UNESCO and IUGS Announce Funding for Three IGCP Africa Projects

UNESCO, in partnership with IUGS, has announced funding for three new projects under the IGCP Call for Africa. Following a competitive evaluation of over 300 expressions of interest and 11 full proposals, each selected project will receive USD 50,000 per year for three years to advance geoscience research addressing key regional challenges in Africa. In Nairobi, IUGS President Hassina Mouri met with Mr. Ibrahim Shaddad, Director General of the African Minerals and Geosciences Centre (AMGC).
