IGCP serves as a knowledge hub of UNESCO to facilitate international scientific cooperation in the geosciences. IGCP and IUGS have been partnered since 1972 to bring together thousands of Earth scientists from around the world.
ILP seeks to elucidate the nature, dynamics, origin and evolution of the lithosphere through international, multidisciplinary geoscience research projects and coordinating committees.
