FAKE DOCUMENT PUBLISHED IN THE NAME OF THE IUGS
The IUGS-Executive Committee has been notified of a document that is circulating under the IUGS logo, dated 11 July 2026. It pretends to concern prediction of a major earthquake in the next few weeks in the Himalayan Foothills.
THE DOCUMENT IS A FAKE!
It was neither written by the IUGS nor issued or publicly disseminated through any IUGS organisation or official IUGS channel.
The IUGS-EC strongly advises its members, partners and the wider geoscience community not to rely on this document. If you have received or encountered it, please disregard it and DO NOT CIRCULATE IT FURTHER.
