Clara Ehrenberg (1838-1915): Early Female Micropalaeontologist


By the time Clara Ehrenberg (1838–1915) was a one-year-old, her father Christian Gottfried Ehrenberg (1795–1876) was already a full professor at the University of Berlin in Germany and a pioneer of a new field of research, micropalaeontology. Clara the youngest daughter never married and as age took its toll on her father’s health, she became his assistant and researcher in her own right.
