IUGS at the International Symposium on the Tethys Evolution and Biotic and Environmental Responses in Beijing

IUGS Vice President Prof. Maria Rose Petrizzo was invited to attend the International Symposium on the Tethys Evolution and Biotic and Environmental Responses in Beijing, China, followed by a post-conference field excursion in the Tarim Basin.


On behalf of IUGS, Prof. Petrizzo welcomed the participants in the opening ceremony and delivered the plenary lecture on the resilience and extinction of biota during intervals of extreme paleoclimatic perturbations in the Cretaceous.


Prof. Petrizzo applauded the extraordinary organization of the event and presented the awards to more than 20 students for their outstanding oral and poster presentations at the closing ceremony.
